There is a version of the African story told in percentages — growth rates, population curves, the size of a market measured from a comfortable distance. It is accurate, and it is incomplete. The more consequential story is told in rooms: who was introduced to whom, who vouched for whom, and which conversations were trusted enough to become commitments. Style De Vie exists to convene those rooms, and to keep them worthy of the people in them.
An institution, not an event
We are not a conference that ends on Sunday. We are a standing institution — a curated network of diplomats, investors, governments, founders, and cultural leaders vetted for one quality above all others: that their word holds. Membership is an introduction to people worth knowing, and a promise that those introductions will be made with judgement and care.
Where the two languages meet
Capital and statecraft have always needed each other and have rarely spoken the same language. The investor wants certainty; the diplomat trades in relationships; the entrepreneur needs both at once. Our work is translation — turning goodwill into terms, and terms into outcomes — with culture as the common tongue that makes the first conversation possible at all.
We measure ourselves against a single test: did a relationship begun here end in something real?
